I wrote these two for Halloween, but didn't finish them on time. They're not really good or anything...but I enjoyed writing them so hopefully someone out there liked reading them. I'm only posting these is one comm, since they're kind of pointless. Read if you're bored ^^




Title: Of glitter and bad ass swords
Rating: PG-13 for some suggestive stuff and cursing

Summary: Ueda was expecting to spend Halloween at home alone. What he didn't expect was for Ryo to show up on his doorstep. In costume.





Knock, knock, knock.

Ueda rolled onto his back, chewing on his pen and being completely silent in hopes of whoever was at his door going away. He had remembered to put up a sign saying he ran out of candy after the last large group of children, so he knew it couldn’t be trick-or-treaters.

His living room was quiet, as he preferred on his days off when he would write lyrics on the floor of his large apartment. He had everything he needed; a pen, paper, his guitar, and complete silence. The only regret he had was that Ryo wasn’t here with him, which couldn’t be helped since they had only been together a week and a half and Ryo was invited to a Halloween party a while before that.

They both understood that going together would be a horrible idea, and agreed to continue with their separate plans. Ueda had silently hoped for more of an argument, for Ryo to offer to feign sickness to get out of the party, or something. It was selfish of him, but he couldn’t help it.

Ueda was snapped out of his thoughts by another knock, this time it was followed by a low voice saying something that Ueda couldn’t understand. He sat up on his elbows and peered over the coffee table.

“Who’s there?” He called out.

Another knock, this time accompanied by a pound that could have either been a kick or a closed fist.

Ueda got up with a groan and shuffled his way across the living room and through the short hallway that separated the entrance from the rest of his apartment. He looked through the peep hole and his jaw dropped.

Ryo’s face was all he could see, and from the looks of it, he was frantically looking back and forth to both ends of the hall. Ueda bit his bottom lip and tried to quell the happy feeling that threatened to surface upon seeing Ryo on his doorstep. He didn’t waste any time opening the door, and once he did, part of him wished he’d left it closed.

Ryo was standing outside his door, his hands behind his back, looking angrier than Ueda thought was humanly possible. He wasted no time at all barging in past Ueda and quickly turning back around once he was inside the apartment, hands still behind his back.

Those actions weren't what made Ueda question Ryo’s sanity for the hundredth time since he’d met the younger man. No, it was what he was wearing. Of course he also wanted to know why Ryo was here and not that the Halloween party, yes, but that…costume…was now top priority. He closed the door and turned around, staring at Ryo's attire.

If he had to guess, Ueda would say that the costume was a cross between a ballerina and a particularly fuzzy butterfly. Ryo was wearing pink ballet shoes with a pink tank leotard and small pink shorts. There was a generous amount of glitter in his hair, and large, extremely fuzzy pink wings. The large sword he was holding behind his back only served to further confuse Ueda. His morbid curiosity piqued, Ueda decided to ask just what in the hell Ryo was wearing.

“What are you wearing? He asked, trying his best not to laugh.

“What does it look like I'm wearing? A costume,” Ryo gave Ueda his best you’re-an-idiot look. “Dumbass.”

Ueda rolled his eyes. “Obviously. I meant what are you supposed to be?”

“Are you serious? Are you - are you actually fucking serious? I dress up like this for you and you have no idea what I am?”

Ueda didn't miss the dressing up for him part, and would reward Ryo for the sweet idea later on, no matter how poorly executed it was. For now, he really wanted to know exactly what the spandex and glitter and feathery wings added up to.

So he shrugged in response.

Ryo looked like he wanted to kill something. Ueda hoped the sword was fake.

“I’m a fairy.”

Nothing was said.

“You’re. You. A fairy.” Ueda looked the other up and down once more, then again, before tilting his head to the side. “How?” he asked, genuinely confused.

“The tights!” Ryo shrieked. “And, and the leotard, and the wings! Seriously, what else could I possibly be?”

Ueda shrugged, not sure how to answer that without further pissing Ryo off.

“Are we gonna have sex or what? This thing is itchy."

Luckily, Ryo's libido saved Ueda the trouble.

“First answer me one thing.”

Ryo sighed and looked at the other expectantly.

“Why the sword?”

“Why not?” Ryo finally brought his hands from behind his back and gave Ueda a closer look at the sword. “It makes the costume bad ass. Like, sexier," He coughed. "You know?”

“Uh-huh.”

“Strip.”

“No.”

“What the fuck?”

Ueda was about to laugh at Ryo and then walk over and kiss him, but his attention was caught by what was in Ryo’s other hand.

It looked like…but it couldn’t be.

"Is that..." Ueda squinted. "A rose?"

Ryo shifted uneasily, looking everywhere but at Ueda.

"Yes. But. But igonervoanibi...." Ryo trailed off angrily, through gritted teeth.

"Huh?" Ueda almost laughed.

"I got nervous and bit it, alright? It's a habit! Leave me alone, fucker."

Ueda rolled his eyes at Ryo's defensive name calling and smiled as he took the rose, which was more of a stem and a bud with a few petals than an actual rose, but he planned to put it in water anyways. When Ryo asked him why, his reply was simple.

"It was from you. And since when could I deny a fairy?"

Ryo kicked Ueda. Ueda punched Ryo in return.

It was a happy Halloween for both of them; the first of many to come.

Summary: Jin was convinced that his costume would make Kame fall in love with him once and for all. Kame was convinced that Jin was a moron. Yamapi was hungry.




Knock, knock, knock

“Trick or Treat!”

Kame sighed from his comfortable spot on his large black sofa. He had been watching a scary movie on one of his rare days off, enjoying himself as much as he could watching a low budget horror film he had borrowed from Koki, before he was interrupted by a voice he recognized all too well.

Jin.

Knock, knock, knock

Kame was about to yell at Jin that yes, he had heard him the first time, and really, once was more than enough, before a second voice called out.

“Give us food!”

Yamapi.

“Pi!” Jin shrieked loudly from behind the door. “It’s candy, not food!”

Kame couldn’t decipher Pi’s response, as it wasn’t spoken nearly as loud as Jin’s words.

“Shut UP!” Jin yelled again.

“But I’m hungry!” Yamapi finally shouted.

“Too bad!” Another knock. “TRICK OR TREAT!”

“Not in my ear, Jin!”

Kame had had enough. Cursing at his misfortune of having to deal with the two morons, and sincerely hoping that Jin and Yamapi weren’t actually wearing costumes and were just visiting to torment him on what would have been a relaxing night alone, Kame made his way to the door in the dark as fast as he could while being careful not to trip.

“If they knock one more time, I’ll strangle them both to death…” Kame grumbled under his breath. “Just a second,” He called out before opening the door.

Upon opening the door and staring at the two grown men standing on his doorstep glaring at one another, Kame did the only thing he could do. He stared.

And stared.

And then he asked, as politely as he could, “What in the hell are you two wearing?”

Their spat clearly forgotten, Jin laughed and rolled his eyes as Yamapi began to twirl in circles, as if giving Kame a better look would make a difference. It only served to piss him off even more. Jin was wearing all white, while Yamapi was wearing a huge yellow Pikachu costume, minus the head. He did have big red spots on his cheeks though.

“Come on, can’t you guess?”

Kame deadpanned. “Fucktards?”

“BZZT!” Yamapi laughed at Kame and did a thumbs up. “I’m Pikachu!”

Kame glared at the large yellow costume as if it were greatly offending him.

“Right.” Kame turned his attention to Jin, who was bouncing up and down on his feet. “And what are you supposed to be?”

“I’m a light switch!” Jin beamed. When he didn’t get a reaction, he elaborated. “Well, you see how my whole outfit is white? This part in front of my pants actually comes off,” Jin paused to remove a large piece of white velcro that Kame hadn’t noticed before. His eyes widened a fraction in mild shock, and then narrowed.

Yamapi clapped enthusiastically and let out a high pitched yell. “And the best part…” he stopped clapping and pointed both hands at Jin’s crotch and smiled at Kame.

“I’m wearing a white sock on my-”

SLAM.

Jin stared at the door for a full ten seconds before pouting and turning to Pi, who was already looking at him with a matching pout.

“I. I don’t understand.”

Yamapi hugged Jin, closing his huge yellow arms around the slumped frame of his best friend. “It’s okay. There’s always next year.”

“I didn’t even get to use the ‘you can turn me on any day’ line, and it took me a whole three days to think up.” Jin sniffed loudly and looked up at Yamapi with watery eyes. “Three days!”

“Shh. It’s okay.” Yamapi continued to comfort Jin, who was as brokenhearted as he was the last time he tried to win Kame’s affections. “You wanna go knock on people’s doors and run away?”

Jin stood straight and disentangled himself from Yamapi, giving one last longing look at the door before smiling at his best friend, who was giving him a gentle, reassuring look.

“Okay. Let’s go. Oh, and Pi?”

“Hmm?”

“I’m sorry I yelled.”

Yamapi smiled. “So am I.”

And the two of them happily skipped away, unrequited love forgotten.

For now.
